Another Update

My 101 Task list in the sidebar now has bullets. Aint that nothin'?

I did it like this: remember the brackets [ ] should be arrows <>.
class="sidebar-title">My 101 Tasks
(this is the matching sidebar title with a heading size of 2)
[ul] (ul is the beginning of an Unordered List)
[h5]Tasks Completed: 6[br] (br means break)
Tasks Remaining: 95[/h5] (anything between h5 and /h5 will have a heading size of 5 - notice 5 is smaller than 2)

[h5]Screenwriting/Movies[/h5] (I didn't want a bullet next to my headings)
[li]1 Write 1st screenplay in 2006[/li][br] (the li and /li gives the bullet and the br gives a line break)
[li]2 Write 2nd screenplay in 2006[/li][br]
[li]3 Write 3rd screenplay in 2006[/li][br]
etc...
etc...
etc...
[li][s]55 Go to a comedy club[/s][/li][br] (the s and /s are for Strike through and go inside the li and /li)
etc...
etc...
etc...

[li]101 Make a new 101 list[/li][br]
[/ul] ( /ul is the end of the Unordered List)

Adding all those [li]s and [/li]s is a monotonous little task, but I like the end result.

I'm also trying out my "New Post" link to see how it works. Yeah, it worked!

What I've Been Doing Since Memphis

I haven't done much on my list lately, I've been too busy playing. Thank you very much. I should have put "Learn a few html tricks" on my list somewhere. I could have marked that one off.

I started playing with the 101 Team Blog because I was pretty sure I was going to start a Family Blog and delete the 101 Team Blog, so if I screwed it up it wasn't a big loss.

I added Peekaboo comments that expand and collapse when you click on them. And a "New Comment" indicator that lets you know if new comments have been added since the last time you were on the site.

They worked so well I decide to add them to my blog. Then I created The Family Blog, Our Kitchen Table, and added them to it as well.

Then I discovered one more trick. The "Make a New Post" link lets you add a new post right from the blog without logging on and going to the Post Editor first. I thought that was so cool, I added it to my blog and the family blog as well. THIS WAS A BAD IDEA! - Edited Feb. 24, 06 I'm trying it one more time. - Edited Feb. 26, 06

I also updated my links by adding all the new family members who have started blogs - Neal and Barbara, Sheri and Greg, and Annie, welcome aboard guys, and a link to the new family blog.

Whew! See, I have been busy. I just found a relatively productive way to keep from working on my screenplay... and walking ... and reading screenplays ... but wait I have managed to squeeze in four movies from my list (a fifth will be added today). I even did a plot analysis on one of those. And, I added another cocktail, a Ruby Red Cosmopolitan.

There, now I don't feel so bad.

You been busy all right! Good job on getting everybody on board Our Family Table.

Back from Memphis - #47 and #65 Done!

95 To Go

Mom and I spent a week in Memphis and had a real good time. We went to Graceland, drove by the Pyramid, went to Beale Street and listened to the Rum Boogie Blues Band, ate way to much every night, and drank a little too. On the way home, we stopped in Branson and spent the night where we had more food and more drinks. All in all we had a great time.

I also completed two tasks while we were there.
#47 - Spend the day or evening listening to live music. Done!
#65 - Spend the night away from home. Done!
I worked on my 10 coffees, my 5 cocktails and my 10 beers also. : )

Check out some picture from our trip at My Flickr Site.

Well, well, aren't you just something! Learning up a storm and having a great time doing it!! I am enjoying your posts and the html info you are providing. I may have to do more work to our blog later. I am impressed with all you have done.

Thanks Neal.I'm having a good time with this blogging thing. It's a little frustrating at times, but rewarding when things finally come together the way I want them to.

Your site looks great, and thanks for sharing all those envy generating photos. Just seeing you guys on the beach wearing shorts is enough to make me wish I was there. I'm wearing two pairs of socks!

By the way, I added a link to your blog in the sidebar of Our 101 Team Blog. It makes it easy to check out what everyone is doing from one place.

Thanks again,

By George! I Think I've Got It!

Ha! I think I figured out how to have my list in my sidebar without too much HTML trouble. I retyped my list into the template and kept it as simple as possible, no colors, no italics, nothing fancy. The fonts, colors, sizes etc, came from the template I chose, so that's all done for me.

I copied and pasted the "Previous" HTML and changed the word "Previous" to "My 101 Tasks" so that it looks like all the others.

(Note: Change all the brackets [] into arrows <>in the following. Blogger wants to read and apply the HTML, so I'm tying to trick Blogger into not reading it.)

Then, I just chose [h5](for heading 5) for my category headings.

They look like this: remember the brackets should be arrows
[h5]Food and Drinks[/h5]

This is what is looks like on the blog:

Food and Drinks

Then I put a [br](for break, as in line break) at the end of all the other lines. Without the [br] all the text gets bunched up together.

It looks like this:
74 Try 10 different coffees [br]
You don't need a [br] at the beginning. You also don't need a / slash in it even though its at the end.

Now when I complete a task on the list, all I have to do is put a [s]at the beginning of the line, and a [/s]at the end of the line (the "s" is for strike-through) and I'm done.

It looks like this:
[s]75 Make home-made pizza[/s]
Those little s's at the beginning and end will put a line through the tasks I've completed.

It looks like this on the blog:
75 Make home-made pizza

Not so bad.
I'm still going to keep my other list active for a while to make sure this is going to work and to make sure everyone can see it.

So, if you can see my list in the sidebar, please let me know.

Thanks

No More Scolly Bar!

Damn! I was so proud of figuring out how to get My List in a scrolly box, in the sidebar, only to find out that I was the only one able to see it. What a pain!

I figured out how to get my list in the side bar without the scolly bar, but I would have to get in the template and edit the HTML every time I want to change my list. No thanks. So I'm back to having my task list in a separate blog with just a link to it in the sidebar. Best I can do. I can't get the multiblog instructions to work correctly. It may be my server. Anyway, that's where I'm at on the issue for now.

More Changes to my Blog

I decided to delete my Art Blog and my Photography Blog. It seemed a little redundant since I'm going to be storing all of my pictures on Flickr. From now on I'll post single pictures here on the blog and for groups of pictures I'll give a link to My Flickr Site.

This drawing is for the Wet Canvas Basis Drawing Class. They suggest you do a "before" drawing so that you have something to judge your progress by. So, this is my "Before" drawing. Now it's off to the lessons.

that's a drawing , i thought that it was a black and white picture.

Your Before drawing looks pretty good. I can't wait to see what your After drawing is like. Good job on this one!
